The USS Harder, a Gato-class submarine, was the first of its kind to be named after the harder, a fish commonly found in South Africa. This legendary submarine received the Presidential Unit Citation and was posthumously honored with the Medal of Honor and four Navy Crosses. The jacket for sale was worn on this iconic vessel during the 1940s and 1950s, making it a truly unique and historical piece.

The condition of the jacket is rough and weathered, but we love it that way. The patches of green fabric add a touch of character and we can tell they're from the war era by the classic red paint splatters. This is the same paint used on ships at the time.

Some rips here and there so please see all the photos, but this probably one of the most amazing deck jacket that we ever had for sale.

The zipper is missing however easy to button for closure
