The Chanute field (Illinois) was established in 1917 like an Air Force technical training. After the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor and the entrance in the ww2 conflict of the US, the field was reactivated an expanded, reaching the capacity of 25.000 man. The Women's Army Corps School was established in early 1944. Along with the military at Chanute.
